How to Fight while Role Playing Naruto
Travel
- Spoiler:
The following is a guide on traveling in villages, out of village, between villages, etc.
Traveling
is a very common feature of your role play experience. Often you will
move between villages, topics, buildings, etc. The staff has recognized
that in order to create a more realistic role playing experience, a
travel time must be set for each action. Depending on the action a
certain amount of time and words to describe the event are required.
The following list will be presented in an easy to read and understand
format. The word count is how many words are required in the post, for
the first post. Any posts after that follow only the rules of the site
as a guideline. The travel time is how long you must wait from the
moment you post the topic until you arrive at your destination. For
example, 3 hours travel time when a topic was posted at 12:00PM means
you must wait until 3:00PM that same day before you've arrived at your
destination.
In order to travel Within a Countries borders:
No additional word count.
No additional travel time.
In order to travel to an adjacent country:
500 word requirement.
6 hour travel time.
Traveling
across more than one country has a special set of rules. If you not
intend on stopping within a country and are moving to another, you must
make another post WITHIN THE SAME TOPIC. Assuming no one else has
entered the topic due to your traveling across possibly hostile
countries, the following is required in a seperate post PER COUNTRY
TRAVELED ACROSS.
350 words per country, in a seperate post for each country traveled across.
3 Hours Travel time posted after the end of a previous travel time.
Turning Back.
If
you make a topic and are traveling but decide that you no longer need
to travel, a travel time in order to return to your destination is also
required. You must post a 350 word reason why your character has
decided to turn around, and wait an amount of time equal to the time
from your first post, to the turning around post. For example, if Bob
posts at 12:00PM and at 1:00PM wants to turn around, he must wait the 1
hour difference before he has returned to his destination.
----
Travel
rules temporary until a map is put in place with complete destination
descriptions, travel distance, and time based on travel distance.
Several approaches will be added to how one travels during that time as
well.

How to Fight while Role Playing Naruto
- Spoiler:
Q. So… Can I just post all my attacks at once…?
A.
The correct answer would be No. Your “moves” are divided into rounds,
which we call posts, A post time can vary from a few minutes, to a few
minutes, to hours, it all depends, though in a fight it is usually
measured in seconds, since everything is going quite quickly, punching,
performing jutsu, etc. The order, if it is a 1v1 would go:
1st Post: You or whoever starts the fight [In this case, you would start the topic]
2nd Post: Your opponent
3rd Post: You
4th Post: Your opponent
Now
if in any chance the battle is, for example, 2v2, then the post order
is discussed and chosen by those who are going to be in the topic.
Q.Ok… So how many Jutsu could I use per topic?
A.
Well, to tell you the truth, we don’t have a limit, this, my friend, is
where common sense comes into place. For example, it would not be so
realistic to use three S Rank Techniques in one post, why?, because it
would drain all your chakra and most S Rank Jutsus take a while to
initiate. But for example, if you don’t have time to perform a jutsu,
you wouldn’t, an example would be if someone has Shunshined behind you,
you would most likely have few seconds to react, thus, not being able
to perform an S Rank Technique. So we basically leave this up to you,
but if you think someone is abusing this, please PM a Staff Member and
we will moderate the topic.
Q. Ok, so what if I want to use a Taijutsu technique? How would you time that, and how do you limit our attacks?[/b]
A. Yes, once again, time[/B]
comes into effect. Most Taijutsu is basically kicking and punching, so
how can we limit that? We really can’t, common sense would come into
place once more here, for example, if someone basically Shunshin’s
besides you and kicks you in the crotch without even letting you
retaliate, this would be called God Modding (Will
come into detail later). Us, the staff, keep an eye out for those kind
of things, but we expect the members to reason about things they are
about to do, specially Taijutsu, for example:
[i]Bob runs at top
speed towards Joe and aims a kick to his head, a punch to his crotch, a
kick to his stomach and another kick with his other foot to Joe’s shin,
hitting him.
This, however, is wrong. Now the correct form would be:
Bob
runs at top speed towards Joe, and stops a few meters in front of him,
aiming a kick to his head, then a punch to his crotch, then a kick to
his stomach and another kick with his other foot at Joe’s shin. If Bob
was successful with the kick to the head, Joe would be knocked out
conscious, if he was successful with the punch to the crotch, Joe would
suffer a lot of pain in his crotch area, if he was successful with the
kick to the stomach, Joe would have the air knocked out of him and if
he was successful with the kick to the shin, Joe would fall down.
This is correct. Why? Because of the magic word IF,
you see auto hitting would be God Modding, but this, is not God
Modding, because Bob is not auto hitting, he is simply “aiming” his
attacks, meaning that the opponent could retaliate by blocking,
evading, or countering the attacks, posts like these are allowed, but
keep in mind the word if, because in an RP fight, it is very useful. There would be situations, like this one:
Joe is tied to a tree, incapable of moving. Bob aims a punch to his face
You ask yourself, can I auto hit him, I mean… He can’t move. The answer would be NO.
Even if he is tied with iron wires, with exploding tags all over his
body and surrounded by wild dogs and ninja with weapons, you can NEVER
auto hit. In this situation, the opponent would HAVE to post being hit,
but if he somehow magically has a way to retaliate, then he is allowed.
Once more, if there are problems like this, all your problems can be
solved by PMing a Staff Member .
Q. Ok, you have told me about Taijutsu… What about Genjutsu? How can I know I’m trapped? And how would the process work?
A.
First of all, Genjutsu Techniques are thoroughly checked due to the
fact that they can be easily God Mode-able. Mostly, when someone traps
you in Genjutsu, it is usually:
- Eye-to-Eye contact.
- Hearing
- Area Genjutsu
- Etc.
There are several ways of getting yourself caught in a little predicament with Genjutsu, but always keep in mind, Genjutsu is NOT
Tangible, so there will be no Genjutsu, nor will it be allowed, that is
tangible. So what you are basically saying, how the heck do I get out
of Genjutsu?! Well, the answer is simple, my friend:
- Kai.
- Pain, baby! Pain!
- Assistance by another person
First
of all, I will be elaborating each one. But to even try to escape a
Genjutsu, you must first realize you are trapped, for example, your
opponent suddenly turns into fuzzy bunnies, your gonna be thinking,
either I am on drugs or I’m trapped in Genjutsu, and no, we will not
settle for
Post: Joe began to make hand seals as the Genjutsu activated, and looked at the opponents eyes
This post is alright, though if the opponent makes a reasonable reason on WHY he was not looking at the man’s eyes, he can escape the Genjutsu, but if he doesn’t…
Post: Nothing changed as Joe began to perform Hand signs, suddenly, Bob realized he was trapped in Genjutsu!
This is WRONG. You need to state a reasonable reason on how your character realized he was trapped in Genjutsu.
Q. So how do I know when I am out of Chakra?
A.
Once more, common sense comes into place. Example, a Genin has a small
chakra pool, so if you use around 10 C Ranked jutsu, you would be
drained. Things like this we cannot be sure about, but if we use common
sense, we can estimate things. For example, even for an S Rank Ninja,
if he uses around 3 S Ranks, he would most likely be drained out of
chakra, think of Sasuke’s “Kirin”, once used, he was basically drained.
So yes, if you have a problem with this, and you think a user has used
too many jutsu, please contact the Staff and we will look over the
topic.
Q. What is God Modding?
A.
God Modding, as said before, is when you perform an action, mostly in
fights, and do not let your opponent retaliate, for example:
Bob stabs Joe, killing him
This would be an example of God Modding, you are auto hitting your opponent without giving them a chance to retaliate.
Bob attempts to stab Joe
This
would be an example of something not God Mode-able. So basically, think
twice when you are thinking of God Modding, because it is punishable.
Q. What is “Meta Gaming”
A.
Meta gaming would most likely be described as using OCC [Out of
Character] information, in IC [In Character] topics, for example, you
heard from someone in the chat box that so and so would be taking over
the village, and you use that information In Character, this would be
described as Meta Gaming, and it is not allowed. Beware when you think
of Meta Gaming, because like God Modding, it is punishable.Thank you for reading this guide, we hope it helped, if you have any further questions, Please PM a Staff Member
