Naruto vs. Pain: Defeating the myths

Okay so many people say stupid things about this fight. I'm going to clear it up a bit. First off, let's look at advantages each had:

Naruto
-God Realm couldn't fight right away.
-Pain had been doing a lot and might not be at full power.
-He had backup.
-He could get information on Pain.
-He had time to prepare.
Pain
-He had all six realms there.
-There was nowhere for Naruto to hide.
-There were others around Pain could use as hostages or something, if he needed to.
-He had extensive knowledge of Naruto's abilities, as far as we know.

So saying Pain was gimped makes no sense. Logically each had advantages over the other. You notice Naruto's more because you want to.

To start Naruto takes Asura Realm down in one hit. A feat no one else matched. That's one realm taken down with little effort.

Pain gets into formation: Animal Realm, Human Realm, and Preta Realm in the front with Deva Realm and Naraka Realm in the back. It's the same three Jiraiya dealt with. Let's see how Naruto does.

Animal Realm summons a rino to charge Naruto. Naruto just grabs it's horn and throws it. You know, we've been seeing summon creatures get wooped a lot. What's up with that?

Animal Realm summons a bull and a dog, Naruto has some help from the toads with these. So he had some help with Animal Realm.

Naruto rushes Preta Realm and is given information on his powers. Naruto then uses Frog Katas to take him down with one hit. Okay, so that's two realms taken down like they aren't even there, one with no help or intel. So far, it looks like Pain is only gimped by Naruto's ninja awesomeness.

Naruto throws the FRS at Pain. Now something a bit odd happens. Deva and Naraka Realm are able to jump out of the way (yeah, Pain sure looks tired), but Animal Realm isn't Human Realm has to throw her. I think that Animal Realm was on one knee for some reason and couldn't get up in time. Animal Realm is clearly more important than Human Realm. So that's three realms Naruto took down like it was nothing, and he's only had help with and intel for two realms.

Naruto faces off against Animal Realm. Now it's quite clear he had a lot of help with this one. Fukasaku came up with the plan to deal with it. However, Pain was having help with his summon creatures to. There is the possibility that he's controlling them directly, but that hasn't been confirmed. This takes a bit longer for Naruto, but he was trying to keep from losing Sage Mode before finishing Animal Realm off. So that's four realms down, with help taking down one and intel for another. That's more than Jiraiya was able to do with help.

Deva Realm charges Naruto and they have an exchange of blows. Gamabunta tries to help, but Naruto tells him to stay back. Naruto reactivates Sage Mode and knocks Pain aside. Somehow Deva Realm handles the hit better than Preta did. I don't really understand why.

Naruto doesn't miss a beat, he throws a FRS at him, but Preta comes by and absorbs it. Naruto notices Naraka and Katsuyu concludes that he's the one that revives bodies. You know, if Naruto was given "full intel", why did he have to find out stuff himself? Anyway, it seems Naruto wasn't just charging in mindlessly. By taking out as many realms as he could in the first run, he made it easier to find out how Pain could revive bodies (but why Pain didn't revive Animal Realm is a mystery to me). Naruto is also told about the five-second interval weakness of Deva Realm. So intel on two realms and help with two realms.

Naruto concludes that he needs to take down Naraka Realm next, who isn't reviving more realms for no reason. Naruto throws down some smoke bombs and pulls the same shuriken mimic trick he pulled on Zabuza. He pins down Preta while the real FRS comes right at Deva Realm, but Deva's powers return and he deflects it. Seems Naruto was ready for this possibility. One of his Kage Bunshins jumped in the air and comes down on Naraka Realm. So that's three realms taken down with no help or intel on them, one taken down with a lot of help, and one taken down after being given intel. Oh, and there's a caption that says "their strength is matched". I wonder what that means...

Naruto punches Preta Realm and tries to get Deva Realm. But he doesn't get there fast enough and gets knocked back. I'm kind of scratching my head thinking how Preta Realm survived this time. I'm just asking for some consistency.

Okay, I'm going to skip ahead a bit, since we clearly see the toads providing a lot of help. However there is one page you should look at:

Katsuyu tells him about the five second interval and Fukasaku comes up with a plan to deal with it. Remember that. Anyway, this makes it clear that Deva Realm caused more trouble for Naruto than any of the others.

Naruto is about to go for Fukasaku's plan, but Deva Realm reals him into Preta's arms. Naruto gathers natural energy to throw Preta off and PWNS him again. Pain also confirms that Naruto strong and more trouble than anyone else he's fought.

Pain is wise to the plan and kills Fukasaku. He takes advantage of Naruto being distracted to grab him and pin him to the ground. Now Pain has clearly won at this point. But it's NOT due to being stronger or better than Naruto. He was wise to the plan. If they'd gone by a different plan, that might not have happened; but we can't be to sure. The fact is, this failure is really more Fukasaku's than Naruto's. It was his plan, after all.

Okay, after this comes something crucial, Pain tells Naruto why he hates the Leaf Village. Now, as we see later, Naruto can break those rods and push back the chakra; so he could have gotten up with effort. If Pain had just shut up, Naruto would have resisted; but that's not how things go. What Pain was doing was telling Naruto the evils of the Leaf Village to break his spirit. He wanted him to release the Kyuubi, as we're told later. So obviously, the goal was the take his will to fight.

Now as for Hinata, she did not save him at all. He wasn't in any better condition due to her actions. She was being foolish and selfish, by her own admission. She just gave Pain another advantage. Pain had a hostage to kill in front of Naruto. He did this to get Naruto to release the Kyuubi.

As for the Kyuubi saving him, that's clearly not the case. The Kyuubi did jack crap against Deva Realm. Deva Realm ran to get closer to Nagato so he could get more chakra. The Kyuubi's moves were powerful but not focused. Because of this, it was hardly able to do anything.

Now Minato certainly saved Naruto. But it wasn't just restoring the seal. He gave Naruto back his will to fight. Naruto's spirit returned in full strength. Anyway, I'll skip all that and get back to Naruto vs. Pain.

Here's some proof that Naruto could have broken the chakra rod from before. He snaps this one like a twig.

Naruto preps a FRS, drops a smoke bomb, and throws it. He then makes another right behind it and makes 100 Kage Bunshin and Henges them into rocks. He does this all in about 5 seconds to get past the 5-sec interval.

It doesn't work, but Naruto was ready for that and braces himself with the Kage Bunshins. He takes down Deva Realm. This shows him thinking at least four moves ahead.

So, the fight can be split into rounds:
ROUND 1: Naruto wins
ROUND 2: Pain wins
ROUND 3: Naruto wins
As for intel, Naruto was only given intel on Preta and Deva.
And he was only given help with Animal and Deva.

Only one of these is a legitimate advantage. The first, you can't call an advantage because that just who Pain is. It's like saying "Naruto had the advantage by being Naruto." The second is also the same way. "Nowhere to hide" is not a plus. That just says Naruto couldn't run, but he never tried to run nor did he need to. The third is irrelevant because not only did Pain never consider taking hostages, but everyone had been explicitly told not to get anywhere near the fight. To reiterate, the fourth is the only legitimate advantage because that one actually was pretty clear seeing how he jacked up Fukasaku. On the other hand though, he did have Hungry Ghost momentarily neutralized because he underestimated Naruto's use of Senjutsu.

litterally pein could of used the rest of his chakra not to bring back the konoha ninjas but to destroy naruto by bringing the paths back and beating naruto's ass, if it wsn't for jiraiya teaching nagato and jiraiya teaching naruto nagato would of destroyed naruto.

heres your answer to this...The deva path still had feelings yahiko's feelings...thats why "HE" was maried to konan. Nagato accepted this thinking nothing would happen...Yahiko gave up his life one last time...why to save konan yet again. Nagato enraged took matters into his own hands forgetting he had no legs...{IDIOT!} and he went and tried to kill naruto when naruto found the real...Nagato...{OPERATION SUCCESS} then naruto odama rasengan and killed him..

he found him and konan was there, and they were talking. Konan was going to kill naruto and nagato said no, then naruto and him was talking about what pervy sage wanted and naruto convinced nagato instead of destroying the leaf he healed all the ninja in the leaf he had killed, thats how kakashi came back alive shizune and others. Naruto did nothing but destroy all the paths then convinced nagato to use the rest of his chakra to heal and bring back the ninja.
